Club fishing trip

Some of you may know already, I work on fishing boats for a living during the summer months.

I have been contemplating setting up a club fishing trip for a while now. I was a little leery about the whole thing because of logistics with people and money and things like that so I'm just going to put this out there to test the water to see if maybe some would be interested.

I work on a 42 foot custom charter boat docked in Brielle nj called the Cindy sea 3, which is United States Coast Guard inspected and capable of holding 17 passengers. With that said and the fact that I work on the boat every day I would try to limit this trip to about 10 passengers to be more comfortable.

My guess is that we would bottom fish Sea bass, ling, fluke maybe some triggerfish.

If this sounds like something you would be interested in pm me with your name and cell number.
There would be a deposit which could be sent pay pal to me (deposit would be NON REFUNDABLE) due to the fact that if the boat is booked for that day it is locked in. The only thing which could change this is if the weather doesn't allow for the trip. This decision is solely up to the captain and Crew.
On a side note rain usually does not constitute cancelation of a trip.

I have not said anything on cost just yet because it would change after 6 passengers. There is a base price for 6 and then additional for each over.
I will speak to the owner of the boat and get more specific after I see if some are interested

Looks like base price is 900.00 for 6 and 60.00 for each additional so at 10 cost is 1,140 plus tip for mate customary 15 to 20%, so let's say its 220.00 that brings total to 1,360 divided by 10 is 136.00 per person.

As of right now not sure, I'm just testing the waters as more chime in ill try to figure the general consensus. I will say that I'm pretty sure the boat is booked all weekends in August so it could be a week day

Im a big fishing guy and a huge devils fan. Im in lets figure out a date. If guys bring there wives and kids though i think the boat would fill up a little to quickly. Thst woukd basically limit the trip to only 2 club members and there families. In thd interest of geting more people on board maybe we should try to keep it club members only?

I would do a Tuna trip to the Mudhole, during the week is no problem for me. Although you probably wouldn't want to do more that 6 if you're trolling.

This is a great idea. I have been on a few deep sea trips off the cost of New Jersey. Bringing the wife and kids would not be on the agenda but I would be happy to make the trip and meet some NJRC members.

Jim that would be great but probably not this trip I can get something going to do that I'll call you. As far as club members, verses spouses kids and the like, these type of questions are the reason I was Leary to offer up this to the club.
All I can say is if this does happen It would be a majority thing. And first come first in

I by no means meant men only. Please dont take what i said in that way. There are many women who are club members so thats why i mentioned a club member thing. I def understand why u were leery in mentioning it. I hope everyone underdstands where i was coming from i just meant that since there is very limited occupancy the boat would fill up extremely fast if people brought there whole families.

I don't think past fishing experience would be required, but you would likely need to have an up-to-date fishing license to go on the trip. I could be wrong though... Rob would have to confirm that.

It sounds like a great idea. Fishing and hanging with a group of club members for a day? Can't go wrong in my opinion.

I agree that it should be kept to members only, at least at first so that it's more of a club trip than a family trip. But if the interest isn't there from enough club members then expanding to families is not a bad thing if that makes it happen.

Unless something has changed, you don't need a license for saltwater...but do need to register. This is for free, but still needs to be done up until the point the State decides is a revenue source. HERE is the link the talks about it.

That's what I meant. I know I had to do that when we went out on Jim's boat.

But, reading that link, it says that if you solely fish on a for-hire fishing boat (charter/party) then you don't need to register. The boat/captain must be registered, but I'm sure they are.

No need to register as long as you're fishing from a charter boat. If you fish from a private boat, beach, bay, jetty, etc., you'll need to go through the process. It takes about 5 minutes, and it's free.

All correct, no license required, no gear (unless you consider beer gear) :) boat supplies all that you need to fish bait, tackle, all you need is what you will eat and drink. If you did have a rod that was suited for this type of fishing you can bring it.

Also I do agree I think for this trip we should try to go with club members only ( male or female) maybe if it goes well we can open it up to a bigger trip on my friends 65' charter boat which can easily fit 30+ people.
