haha, Paul, thanks for the good find...
i ordered TWO cables, will let you know how it goes - my NEW TV will be arriving next week !!
:encouragement:

+1 on mono price. Really no need to spend extra money on cables, it's all marketing. In the analog days, one could argue that there was a difference, but things are mostly digital these days. 1's and 0's. I would bet a ORA frag that a person cannot tell the different between a $8 monoprice cable and a $80 monster cable.

In the analog days there was a wire hanger speaker wire challenge and only the finest trained ear could detect the difference.

I could not agree more!!! The only way I would spend a lot on a cable is if I were putting it INSIDE a wall. And even then a "monster" is just a name.

Unless the OP needs that high quality for video/photo editing, graphic design then no need. And I am betting tha it will be used for just basic computer use because a professional would not use a television for graphics work.

Skip the monster. And get something cheaper. You can buy 4 or 5 other cables at the same price.

So I go to place the order for a new Acer AO722-0473 Netbook (and cable) on Amazon, waiting for today, since it’s Cyber-Monday, and hoping for an additional savings, but NO! Yesterday the price was $279, and today it’s $302?? What’s going on? I purposely waited, thinking that Cyber-Monday might bring additional savings, but now it’s more!

So how does Amazon work…is it like commodities with daily price fluctuations?

It bummed me out! Now I’m not in any rush….I’ll continue to check prices.

EDIT TO ADD: It must be like commodities, because I just refreshed the Amazon page, and the price is now $306.99

Are you set on a NetBook? I picked up a Lenovo laptop with 4g memory and 320 hard drive, AMD E2 series processor and a built-in webcam for $299 plus tax at Best Buy.

Edit: it does have 1 HDMI port.
The Cyber sales started on Sunday by the way.
The price went up because th stocks are doing well after Black Friday.
