Paul that's great! If raising it makes it perform better, maybe you can build a short stand out of egg crate or PVC pipe?

I was thinking the same thing, sounds like the pump can't handle that depth and water is overtaking air intake now. Good luck with it.

It is a pump problem and that pump is now gone….see THIS, Post #90

The skimmer is now working just fine in nine inches of water with yet another pump, where the impeller has three washers on the impeller side.
