Controller?

I got the green light from the wife on a controller. I have a $300 something limit. I'd like to control my 2 heaters and my lights(2 plugs). I'd also like to monitor temp and pH. Email or text notification is a must.

I'm clueless when it comes to this stuff. Any suggestions?

I am currently using the Reef Keeper Lite "RKL" and I love it. You can also purchase the RKM-NET Module to give you the email notification function.

You might also be interested in the Neptune Apex Jr Contollers. I heard good things about those!

I'm just recently purchased the apex Neptune base w/EB8 and I love this thing. I find myself checking my tank throughout the day on my iphone.

Go with Neptune Apex. It is one of the best equipment I ever bought.

I would try to squeeze out the Apex Lite but the Jr may cover what you need. Personally the display is a waste since the IOS/Android apps work really well, I never touch my display. You just don't want to be locked into the Jr if you ever wanted to add to it, sine it only supports 5 modules, where the Lite supports 240. The other really nice feature is the alternate power source. I use this to detect a power outage, since I have my system hooked up to a APC/Battery. When the power goes it shuts down half my tank, and i get about 1.5 hours on battery.

Just my two cents.

Definitely go with the Apex lite and not the jr. you'll have room for advancement in the future. If you have a smart phone try to order the controller without the display it really is a waste cause like myself and others well all probably control the apex via cell phone or laptop.
So by not getting the display you can get a extra eb4 or eb8.

I ended up ordering the Jr in the GB. I was gonna get the lite but wanted to save a bit for another project I'm working on. I'll be able to add on to the Jr for everything I could need in the foreseeable future. If I need more I guess I'll just have to upgrade. IMO though if you have the money get the lite.

I ended up ordering the Apex Jr. and the pH probe. I'm not planning on an upgrade anytime soon so I hope I'm happy with my purchase. Thanks for all the advice guys!
