Coral life return pump failed?

Hey guys so i have a coral life return pump in my 32g biocube today i was doing something feeding so i turned off all the pumps got caught up with other household things 2 hours later turn everything back on and the return pump isn’t working took it out of the chamber was covered in sponges cleaned it smacked it around alittle haha turned on cleaned the whole thing out was pretty built working ok now
Do you guys think i should replace it into a maxijet 1200? Which everyone recommends
Or just leave it for now since it’s working? Any special reason why it has so much build up

No. Cleaning corrected the problem. If the pump is not noisy, or intermittent, I would keep it in service. I tend to break them down and clean them periodically as a precaution.

maybe ill just do that in the future pain in the butt taking it out but guess its a good idea

Should go unsaid. But periodic cleaning of all equipment. especially mechanical. is simply a staple of the hobby and should be part of your normal routine. Anything else is a recipe for disaster. Fact is these little pumps run 24/7 pushing and pulling very harsh stuff. Salt / calcium and all the bicarbonate. Snails sand and so on are all brutal on equipment.

yah should of known something like this can happen honestly usually clean all my stuff decently this was unexpected for me rookie mistake

Well ya know it really can sneak up on you. Everything looks great and than all of a sudden BAM things are encrusted and clogged
