Corals in South Jersey-ish

Hi everyone, new here.
I'm having a terrible time finding some nice zoanthids for my tank, or some ricordeas.
I for the life of me cannot find any good stores that stock corals. I found one good store in Delaware, but they dont have much of a selection when it comes to zoanthids (only had standard green), and they had no ricordeas at all.

Are there any hidden jewels of coral shops around here? (I live in the Salem County area, close to Delaware)
I saw mrcoral.com had free shipping, but didnt have any frags listed. I'm not trying to buy a whole colony.
I just cant bring myself to pay $35 dollar shipping from most websites i can find.

Oh, and one off-topic observation, Under General Discussion - READ ME FIRST! the link below "Also - if you are so inclined, feel free to consider signing up to join the club!" is broken. :)

TheguyfromNj, for some reason i cant send PM's i keep typing the security codes and it comes back up like something was wrong. It never said "successfully sent" could you send me your email?

I was at Allquatics the other day and they had a OK selection. I have seen them fully stocked and I was pretty impressed.

You can also try a place in somers point, i think its called pet center, they get some nice Rics in

you need like 5 posts i think.. anyways.. there is The Hidden Reef in Levitown PA, Delaware Premium Aquatics in Chestnut plaza RT 7 I believe Newark. Pet Kare II just down the road from that.. Umm The Aquarium Center in Blackwood, Pet Kare I in Bear DE across from Texas Roadhouse/lowes on RT 40. Just Fish on RT 40 towards the MD state line. Theres also a aquarium place behind the pep boys/arbys on kirkwood hwy.

allquatics didnt have a bad selection whn i stopped there, they werent open on time ... nowhere close to on time but w/e lol

Yeah someone just pm'ed me and said i cant send PM's yet. Which is a real PITA, because someone 15 minutes from me has some good zoanthid frags and i cant PM them to say im interested.

The place behind pepboys/arbys is the store i mentioned, they have nice stuff. I went to Pet Kare 1, and Just Fish, but they didnt have much. Actually just fish was disgusting, bubble algae, hair algae, dirty tanks, and aptasia all over everything.

I will be sure to check out the others though, thanks for the info!

It may be but it sure beats all of the spam we were getting here before that measure was implemented. Sorry it causes you a hardship.

hidden reef is low on LR till the shipment gets in .. was late due to inclement weather.. other than that i still love that place!

Welcome to NJ Reefers!!!!

If you can't PM people, you can also click on the letter icon under avatars (of members who have their email addresses visible) to get peoples email addresses. [Correct me if im wrong if low posters can not to see the icon]. You can also add this to your avatar by updating your profile and selecting to have your email address visible to others. I have created an email account solely for reef related emails.

So... You say that you are on the lookout for zoanthid's? As a matter of fact, I have some frags that are currently up in the for sale forum. And live in Maple Shade.

You can email me at mkreef@yahoo.com

Also, Xavier has a nice colony up right now and I think its still available. I actually picked up his smaller colony this morning. And he lives 5 minutes from me.

Joe, (TheGuyFromNJ) is a very nice guy. I actually have some zoas that I origionally bought from him. He can also help you out.

I was at The Aquarium Center in Blackwood about 2 months ago. The store is big and has alot of merchandise both dry goods and live goods. I had some fish picked out in my head that I was going to buy and then I heard an employee that was trying to sell LR to a customer who was new to the hobby(who was in his 60's) for $25.00 a pound. The rock had some softies on it and the employee then said... I have to take the coral off it first. I asked the employee "did you say 25.00 a pound" he answered back with "yup" I informed the man about some other places and left without buying anything. I know this isnt the right forum for this post but I saw The Aquarium Center mentioned and just wanted to give a "heads up" Mods can relocate this post if need be.

$25 per pound, I'm not buying that one. They just had it on sale for $3 something a pound. You must be mistake. Just no way. I have no idea why Aquarium Center keeps getting this bad rap. I have always gotten good fish from this vendor, coral selection is hit or miss, lots of drygoods which i admit are higher than online but so is every other walk in store. Let me say i have been to stores like AO and i'm not knocking them but their whole store would only be one isle at Aquarium Center.

I was not alone..I was with another member of this club at the time. Trust me, I thought I heard wrong thats why I asked the employee what he said.I did also say in my post that I had fish on my mind that I was going to buy. If they had a nasty livestock I would have left before ever hearing this.
