Cracked Rim

I recently acquired a used 40 gal tank. I noticed that the top plastic rim is cracked/split in all 4 corners. Is this okay to set up for long term or should I make something to hold it all together? Don't want to get it up and running just to have issues later down the line.

You can get replacement trim pieces, just talk to you LFS. I had a 40B that had cracks in the corners also.

I used a dremel to take the old one off. Scrape off the old silicone with a razor and apply some new silicone to the new trim and install.

Better to fix it now than have to deal with problems later.

I would buy a new one, can get one for 40$ at petco. Fixing it is not worth it

It isn't a 40B. It's a 40 high so it's not part of there $1 per gallon sale.

Check with AQ center in blackwood there moving so you might get one cheap
