Cupramine dosage

I setup my QT and placed the sole survivor in the 10g tank. I added the first dosage; and it says to wait 48hrs and repeat. My question is do I dose every 48hrs or is two doses the end? It does say to keep the fish in solution for 14 days. I plan to keep the fish out out the main tank for 90 days.

Thanks
Mark

Directly from Seachem website.

Treatment
If the bottle has a dropper cap, use 20 drops (1 mL) per 40 L (10.5 US gallons) the first day, wait 48 hours, then repeat. On non-dropper caps, each inner ring is 1 mL. In freshwater use half dose. Final copper concentration is 0.5 mg/L (0.25 mg/L in freshwater). Leave at this concentration for 14 days. Do not redose without testing (MultiTest™: Copper). If tank has ever been treated with an ionic copper (e.g. copper chloride, sulfate or citrate), test copper level after initial dosing. Although most fish tolerate Cupramine™ to 0.8 mg/L, it is not advisable to exceed 0.6 mg/L copper.

sorry, i was thinking prazipro, When i did cupramine, i dosed it over a couple of days, until i reached just below the full dosage, i think its .5ppm and i had mine at .4ppm. i kept mine there for 4 weeks and then pulled it out and watched the fish until the tank was ready after 90 days. Do not dose again, copper will not leave the system, if you dose again it will raise it to toxic levels. If you do a water change, add the cupramine to match the dosage of the qt tank and then add the new water. that would be the only reason for adding more.

No clue what happened. I dosed once like instructions said and let tank be for a few weeks. Did a 3g water change a few weeks ago. last week added the carbon filter to remove copper and yesterday swapped it out. The fish was not looking well or eating much for a few days. Woke up this morning and its dead. So extremely pissed as I tried so hard to save it.

With cupramine, the dosage they have on the bottle i think says to repeat in a day or so to bring it up to full dosage, they don't want the full dosage at one shot because it might shock the fish. i actually spaced mine out to 4 doses and brought it up to .4 instead of .5. I also left my fish in the copper for 4-6 weeks. It may be that you only had half the dosage in there and it wasn't enough to kill whatever it was, just stunt it a bit, or you may have removed the meds too soon.

Art, I did follow the directions so when I said dosed once I meant what the instructions stated.
The bottle stated use 20 drops per 10.5g first day and repeat 48hrs later and leave it be for 14 days.. This is exactly what I did and the QT is 10g.
The fish had no signs of ich when I did QT, other fish died of it so was being cautious. I never added more as the fish was clean and doing well until recently.
