Curing Marco Rock

I just picked up some Marco Rock for my tank. What's the best why to cure it.

Thanks
Bob

It's all going to depend on how much rock you have, how fast you want it in the tank and how much organics are on the rock.

If its not much rock you can always rinse it with RO water and put it in your tank and let it cure that way but you risk raising nitrates and PO4.

If its a lot of rock I'd just use a rubbermaid container with a couple pumps, put a lid on it and let it cook doing a water change atleast once a week.

If its real dirty rock, you can go with a muriatic acid wash, rinse it off and then cure it in a rubbermaid container with a powerhead and lid.

Just my thoughts on it.

And while Im at it, how is there rock? I've heard differening views in terms of shape and how much organics are on it. Would you order it again? You know we all love pictures here, even if it is of rock :)

I have used marco a few times. There new pre cured rock was the last I used. It s not as much pre cured as it is power washed and much cleaner than the previous rock . I lke itbecause it s dry nd can be epoxyied together without a time limit and fear of " killing" it. I recently added about 35 pounds in a 60 cube and had very little issues. I did not test because i knew it Would cyle and had no plans on adding livestock for at least a month . I added a bag of " live" sand at time of setup . After about a week i put in a few very small pieces of live rock from different sources to add deversity while seeding it . I also was able to get some coraline rubble/ sheets and added that
I have noticed everytime i have used it that it cycles like regular rock but then seems to cycle again aftwr 2 -3 months .itgets a shell like algae growth that can be blown off the rock and does not come back in my opinion this is when it is fully cured. I did not wait until this point to add livetock and had no issues. I waited after the first month and added sps first and had no issues.
If anyone does decide to buy it he has a special on mondays. He posts up one rock scape and sells it for .99 cents, first one to nab it gets it . If you dont i think he still gives 33% off during hat time . Theres a code on the web for tne disvount .

We just added 50 lbs of Marco rock to our 93 cube on Saturday. We had branch rock from our Cardiff. The tank tests 0 on P04 nitrites nitrates and ammonia. All we do is rinse it of to get any loose debris and dust off. And add it right to our system. We have done that every time with no issues. We do add bacteria boost for 2 days.
