Hi NJReefers! I did a build thread on R2R to document the build of my first reef tank which I kinda update still. Really the build is mostly done, but I still find myself taking a ton of pics anyway. Since I find myself posting mostly here, I’m going to post the ones I like on this thread. Comments and pics always welcome!

read the thread over at R2R. Tank looks great. How do you like the Skimz algae reactor? I was looking at that model and the simz monster fm150 carbon reactor to add lights to it. How do you like the algae reactor and would you have done differently?

It’s actually really good. I ran a turf scrubber for the previous decade. This doesn’t compare in growth, but it keeps my nitrate and phosphate at good levels. It’s also a much cleaner sump. I’d definitely buy it again, or maybe a DIY one, they’re easy enough to do.

Just read through your entire build, cool stuff. You really need to start getting some big fish in there though, I want to see some tangs!

I love the in wall look as well.

This one is fun. SpongeBob's pinapple is only viewable up close, you have to look at a weird angle to see it. It's awesome to watch little kids look for it. I show them the pineapple sponges, then tell them that spongebob has the biggest house in there and challenge them to find it.
