Wendy:

My dogs haven't gone #2 all day yesterday because those 2 big sissies are afraid to get their feet wet. (both are over 100 lbs. mind you)

why not train them to use toilet? ??? they sure are big enough to sit on it without falling in...
;D

LOL...I needed that laugh.
Yep, they sure "could" use it, with no problems either, but unfortunately they ONLY go #2 on grass - nowhere esle. And yes, that means if we have tons of snow we have to open up a grassy area for them in order to go.

PS. It stopped raining long enough for both of them to "empty themselves" completely.

There was a time I wished my dog was like that. My wife and I would walk him around our old neighborhood every night after work and he would never fail to squat on the yellow line as we were crossing. Let me tell you that is pretty embarassing on a busy road holding up traffic! :-\

why not buy those Plastic Grass plate from home-depot (like the one they use in the mini-golf area), then "smear" their "previous belonging" on it... so they will think it is ok to go there... then use your garden hose to wash it out later...

;D

My new basement fish room got flooded again in this rain. Good thing is, this time it is not my fault! ;D

Well, I spoke too soon. Water starting to come in the basement, and of course the sump pump isn't working now... and the way the previous owners hooked up the sump I have no idea how I can switch it out.

stupid rain means i can't skate for a few days until it's all gone... good thing i jacked my ankles up saturday trying a fakie 360 varial kick flip from one sidewalk down hill onto another sidewalk 1 foot to the right lol yeah that hurt when i landed..

Mike to the rescue! Talked me through getting the sump pump out.

Thanks Mike!

You're welcome. Glad you didn't have to rip any walls out to get at it.

What a project that turned in to. After a 1/2 can of WD 40, a hammer, some cursing...I got the pump working again. I don't think that pump has worked in a loooong time, both of the copper check valves were frozen and the exit pipe was clogged. Another 1/2 can of WD-40 and I freed up the check valves. Everything *seems* to be working fine for now. I guess all the PVC work I did on my system will finally come in handy for the house! :)

Sorry Deb, missed your post last night. I ended up leaving work at 1:30 and had to drive through one deep spot right where Easton Ave changes over to Main St, South Bound Brook. After that I had no problems. I just got into work and the water has gone down some for now, but they still have Main St. closed for clean up and possible flooding during high tide. Easton Ave seemed to be open though.

I played it safe and am working from home again today.
When I went to bed last night Brian was working on our sump pump with Mike so I thought I'd be using the wet vac all day today.

Plainfield - Scotch Plains border. Total of 6 inches in my basement... The tank is ok. However the washer, dryer, & furnace, are another story.

Good luck to you all

Brian. Thats a good thing that everything was frozen up. Means you're basement doesn't flood.

This was the first time we have had ANY water in the sump hole. It's been filling up since last night though!
