I had a mag 18 in my sump and it was quiet .
This is a good price I paid like $200 for my return pump.

You can't beat the price - if it is too loud, you can always make salt water with it. I use a Mag 18 to mix new salt water in a 55 gallon drum, and the water is ready a lot faster than with some old powerhead.
