Yeah, I was talking to Rob and we were saying how funny it is to do 1g weekly water changes when I'm used to doing 30g weekly water changes Lol so weird.Nope pretty easy and you can do a lot of water changes to keep all the nutrients levels low.

Do clowns still host mini/maxi/rock nems?
In fact the hammer you sold me is being hosted by my son's two clowns.Clowns host almost everything as long as whatever it is doesnt kill them lol. But for real, ive had clowns host a powerhead or heater and so on. If you want the look of a BTA get a nice sized frogspawn or torch and then introduce a clown to try to host it.

See I've had a big frogspawn before and they wouldn't even look at it. I think they liked hosting my overflow with hair algae lmao
Well I know its early on but last night I added 5-6 small pieces of LR from my 150 in the chamber to help seed the tank. No results as of yet, ammo and nitrite are still 0ppm while my nitrates are at 2.5ppm. Salinity 1.025.
Well that's why I added rubble from my sump of my 150. That's been in there for 6+ months so its gonna have some bacteria on it. I'm in no rush so I'll check it again in a few days and see where I'm at. If its not doing anything by then, I'll put a shrimp in there or somethingIf you want the tank to actually cycle, you need to add a source of ammonia. I personally would not trust established rock to prevent a cycle once your clowns are in. I would not add the clowns in until to see evidence of the cycle, i.e high ammonia, then high nitrite, then finally high nitrate with zero nitrite and ammonia.
So using water out of my 150, rubble from there and also a RR rock won't do anything? Why is it that when setting up a QT tank, alls I gotta do is swap over a filter pad and I'm good to go?Rubble will not add ammonia, or very little.
The rubble rock I put into the back chamber is out of my sump but the main piece of rock was bought at Aquarium Center. Its "Reef Ready" rock that was in their tank.Didn't all the rock come from you existing tank? If that's the case you won't see a cycle. The water won't add any bacteria but the rock from there is all you would need.
Well I don't have any fish in there yet. When theyre ready to go in, I'll lower the salinity for a little while and go from thereYou'll need to treat any fish for ich in the nano now.
