lights came on a bit ago water cloudy no rbta to be found( 40 gal tank) had a small powerhead slits big enough for spaghetti. most of the corals are closed.i do see remenants of something cloudy void of color. Was this food for them ? I am now starting to make some ro=di . I geuss this is why you have some on hand . I usuallu have like 7 gallons for top off. Last night doing top off with ro-di (gallon jug) with airling siphoning into tank . If rbta was near this top off water do you think this was his demize. Sonow I wait for the water to do a w/c...

If he got nuked in the power head, I would be doing water changes and running extra carbon if you have it. I don't think some extra rodi water would kill a RBTA that quickly.

If you can get some water from one of the LFS do it and get your water changed.(crap day for it) I have had it happen creates a mess. Run carbon if you can, maybe a HOB Filter or canister filter you have laying around. I don't know how big the RBTA, but you have a lot of biodegradable materials in the tank to get out.

PS if you look around the tank you will see little bits of orange...that means power head got it.

Oh boy, that's some mess. I guess you're going to be busy doing frequent water tests and changes. Do you have the resources you need to do that?

I did see little bits of orange yesterday .Didn't think much about it..(did not think he could get into power head ) I was wrong.
making water now ,running hob /w carbon planing on doing 1/2 water change .Good day for this ...Drain line has to go out front door...Should i pull out rocks coral and try to vacuum sand??

Would running the Skimmer in a more 'wet' state help? I have done this in the past just means you have to empty it sooner but it may aide with removing some of the biological waste. Where are you located? I am making water right now for a change tomorrow but could spare some.

Likely the skimmer will go a bit nuts anyways so do watch it as Empire stated. They can get into anything.
On a related note I got a sea hare which was doing great until it decided to rub up against the maxijet I have burried in the rocks. He didn't get sucked in but couldn't get away thus died. :hopelessness:

I'm in 08057. I have water on the ready. My sump blew out so I'm running without one and I have been doing 5g changes every few days. I think I have at least 10g in the drum ready to go. I use aqua vitro salinity. I'll probably be home most of tomorrow. PM me if you want to try to get some.
