Why would I only be getting it on one side of my tank? They sand on the left is pure white the sand on the right is completely covered and I just did a 20 gallon water change this past weekend? Not only did I do water change but scrubbed all the live rock and siphoned all the sand.

By doing that you sent the tank into a cycle, get a clean up crew and keep your hands out of the tank
The one side may be more due to water flow conditions.
I have a gyre powerhead and the side the pump is on is the side with diatoms I’ve thought about that and was thinking about getting another for the other side of the tank to see if that helps. I would program them to alternate I was thinking
I’m honestly confused by all my research on clean up crews. I already have one in place going off BRS tv but if you look into some of these packages they sell you’re adding hundreds of mouths to the tank between crabs and snails. Which therefore also adds 100’s of mouths worth of waste, and what happens when those mouths eat everything? What i have planned and started but I need to wait till my LFS restocks was bombard the tank and when it’s cleared remove the extras and give them back.
That’s what I’ve been reading and why I’m not doing a package and only a temporary Entourage of snails to mow the stuff down and away they go!
