Rapid tissue necrosis. Have you had any swings in your parameters recently? Particularly alk?

I can tell u this. Break off the living tissue and reset on a new frag. Saved an acropora I got from trop. And I lost most like you show. The part I broke off is coming back nicely.

No swings, everything looks fine. Alk has been pretty stable swings might go from 8 to 9 sometimes but pretty stable for a while now.

This is the same problem I've had with acros. Can't figure it out here either. Is it only the one piece? Only acros? How are other SPS? In my case my Alk is relatively stable and I have no coral eaters.

Only one, I was worried about flame angel, never saw it pick on any coral. I also have a lawn mower blenny, that's the one Im really worried about. But same never seen him pick on coral. This piece browned out a while back maybe it just wasn't going to make it from the start.

I'm really leaning towards other issues in your case as well as mine. In my case I've fragged off the good coral but it has no effect eventually it starts again. Keep a close eye on the rest of your stock.

My vote is RTN. If it was the angel or blenny it would be missing parts of the flesh. Looking at the pic, half of the flesh has receded. Either cut the good part and put it on a new plug or put CA glue around where the tissue is receding. I would also have some one else test your water to verify your kit isn't off (it happens more than you'd think).

Nope, no temp spike, no other corals around. I think I will try another test kit Maybe my Test kit went bad. All other corals look fine.

Lost another, a blue tort and my nice slimer is showing a little sign of recession. Tested and re tested and everything is spot on. I am lost......

Hey John any new news?
Seems like I have my rtn under control. I stopped all aminos and reef energy I don't know if that was the culprit but I will try dosing in smaller amounts at another time and one product at a time for a couple weeks each.
My superman Monti still looks really bad and I will probably loose it but everything else looks good.
