DIY frag tank

I decided to set up a small frag tank 18x18x8” tall.
these tanks are a bit pricey so here I go.
I had a 40b that broke while moving it empty, thank God.
the back glass broke so yesterday I took the tank apart and started to clean the glass panels. The tank has been sitting in the yard for months.
So my plan is to cut the glass to size polish all edges and glue up a tank. I’m gonna make it 18x18 x10” tall instead of 8”.
im also gonna drill and make my own overflow and connect it to my existing system.
I just had hand surgery today so it’s gonna be some time before I cut the glass and glue it up but I’m gonna clean it up and prep everything for the build.

Well phase 2 complete, cut the glass today and let me tell you, it isn’t easy. Although I wound up with pretty good results I had a couple blunders. I had a panel that didn’t break perfectly even and had to snap a crazy angle and then when I cut the bottom I cut it a quarter inch too bigSo in trying to cut a quarter of an inch or 3/8 thick glass I had it all chipped up that’s what you see in the picture and I had to grind that all clean and smooth but in the end I polished all the edges and here’s the finished product waiting on glue up

Disaster this morning in preparing to glue up my new frag tank and the fact that my left hand is incapacitated I Dropped one of the pieces onto my living room floor and it shattered into bits
Now I’m on my way to Brick to pick up a new piece of glass for $15 so my free frag tank is now a $15 frag tank
Oh well
