Do hermits need extra empty shells after a while?

I have 10 or so blue leg hermits in my 20L. The dispatched a few nesarius snails and took the shells. I have no nesarious left and only one empty shell in the tank.

I have found the remnants of two hermit crabs over the last few weeks so I'm wondering if I need to get some bigger shells for them to inhabit. Do they die if the outgrow their shell and can't find a bigger one?

Lol yea larger snails tend to work nicely , but i always put a bunch of larger empty shells in attempt to save my larger snails, and it has seemed to do ok... minus a couple of my tongan nass.

If you need shells I ordered a bunch from reefcleaners & have a lot left. They're nicely colored! lol.

makes a great pod condo or gobi vacation house
