So I had the day off today and got to thinking, how much would it really cost to build my one and only final tank. The answer $25,381.25!

I just completed my 420 display and 180 gal sump with 270 gal Mixing tanks with another 65 gal auto top tank so I can go away for 2 weeks.... see in the forums...(tale of tank...420in my sunroom) and by the time I added a beam for support... new tile floor... sump room with with quarantine tanks and mixing tank, over 2k easily in valves all schedule 80....114 watt UV... now a chiller as tank running around 79.5 degreed...double that 25k easily... and all my time.... plus a 2k canopy lift I built myself so I can access the tank easily....I spent am easy 50k...and...
another 10k for a whole house backup 20kw generator.... so... better add a lot more to that budget

I forgot to add in the mixing tanks, auto top tank, quarantine tanks... DOH

Plumbing thankfully my gf I started dating her dad owns a huge plumbing supply company .

Generator is a good one too!!!

This was just a fun idea I threw together, definitely not something I'll be doing in the foreseeable future.

No! No! No! No! You are not allowed to do this. Anyone with an ounce of intellegence will tell you that you'd have to be a blathering idiot to set up a tank like this with those costs.....and especially letting your significant other see numbers like that. You need to use Caveman accounting for this and do what Nike says, "Just Do It." I talked to Ug, and he is a CCPA.....a Certified Caveman Public Accountant....and Ug tells me that a 500 gallon tank will cost between 500 to 1000 calms, give or take a Brontosaurus Bone. Now that number is do-able and something you can slip past the spouse with approval!


I don't want to know what my little 90 gallon DT costs, because if I did, I'd be calling myself a blathering idiot!
