I actually had to flip the rock the nem was on and turn him around, he started taking over that half of the tank. Trying to keep him in the corner away from stinging everything. Other than that an mystery receding with certain corals for some unknown reason, only a few at this point, but not sure why, tank is chugging along nicely
i made a batch the other day myself....just with shrimps, scallops, squid, clams & nori. fish seem to love it so i can't complain....i molded them into this: DrTim's Aquatics Natural Bene-FISH-al Fish Food Starter Kit for All Marine Fish: Aquarium Fish Food and it gives me nice small serving sizes
Well, just figured I'd update a bit, my work hours recently went to 7am to 7:30pm and I'm no longer working from home, so time for me is short anymore, lol. Having some issues with certain corals still, trying a few things to turn that around, mostly changing my salt back from the aquaforest that I tried and doing water changes. hoping my coral start turning around and i'll get my next batch into the tank. Added two of those black and white cardinals and a chalk bass.
I've heard good but complicated things about using AF salt mixes....is it worth it?
I don't know honestly, my coral seemed upset by it, and when I checked parameters, dkh was like 6 and calcium was low as well, something like 300-340 on a fresh mix, now my mixed saltwater stays in a container for a few weeks but it's sealed and that shouldn't make a difference, it was tested after being in a low circulation brute can for the few weeks, but it's possible the salt was effecting my corals. I picked up some coralife salt from alex at reefabout and it tested up good, so I did two water changes about 20g a piece in two days, tank seemed to respond well to it. Haven't posted any updates on the tank as it just seems to be sitting in limbo on growth. I'm waiting for it to make a turn.
Got some new stuff from the coral swap in Delaware, the orange meat coral, rainbow torch, it's yellow and green with purple tips, really nice, a hammer that I'm hoping will color up into a yellow hammer, my ice fire echinata, red dragon colony and some unknow acro, I'll see what it turns out to be. All in all a good day.

Just a shout out to @PacificEastAquaculture , just picked up 16 acros, 5 chalices, a wall hammer and a elegance coral, all arrived well, I'll get some picks up once everyone acclimated and comes out, just about filled the tank with that order. Tank is starting to chug along nicely, no more stn after stopping using aquaforest salt, everyone is growing well.
Agree @art13 . I ordered a hammer and a flower nem from them not to long ago (first time ordering corals online) and they came in looking great and looked just like the website photo

I've never seen anything quite like it, green and bright yellow with light purple tips.
So my journey continues at this point, though things have not been going the way they should. I have not been active as of late, i apologize. The reason is that i found out i have a 5th kid on the way, and i've been working 12.5 hour days, and i no longer work from home. As to the tank, about a month ago, the gfi kept tripping at times, i couldn't figure it out. fast forward a week, one of my wav pumps no longer works, and the stereo only has one volume. I considered shutting down the tank, but my wife of all people convinced me otherwise, and my two little ones love it, so i ordered a new wav pump and stereo for the tv. I also found the reason for the tripping, the one channel for my ati t5 was tripping it, when i looked further i realized all 3 cooling fans were not working, ordered them and replaced, tank was running well. then comes earlier this week. I get a text from my wife, she is having a bad day, i wind up leaving work to take care of the kids. after being home for a while, i glance at my tank, lights are out, i thought it was just the gfi again, i go to reset it, i see pumps are working. Long story short, the apex unit was shot. I run to the store for a new one as my tank is dependent on it at this point, on the way i get an alert, the unit has permanently switched on my heater, i had to have my wife pull the plug on the system, i get to the store, all they carry is the new model, i have no choice, at that point, so i buy it. come home, reprogram the hole system, now i have a few new probes as well, which is nice, but not really needed. I plug in my DOS unit, no lights really come on, i tap the dose button, nothing, the unit is fried. Luckily amazon has it, so i have to next day air the dos unit in. At this point, i've sent my complaints to apex and i'll see what happens there, but i don't have my hopes up. In the middle of all this my computer hard drive dies as well, i have to buy windows and a new hard drive. As for the tank, fish and coral are doing well, so thats one thing i got going for me, lol.

Any idea why my western digital external hard drive won't show up when I plug it in? It shows up in devices but I can't open it like I can my c drive and can't find a way to format it. It was formatted to my Xbox last if that makes a difference
