Thanks!

Also, I was just playing around in Photoshop and realized just how easy it is to COMPLETELY change the look of a coral in a photo.

Both of these are the same coral. The first is with very minimal editing and the second is straight out of the camera.

Scary.

Lots to update!

Since my last posts, I added in the frag rack and relocated all of the old rock to the sump, saving as much of the coral off them as possible. I've also picked up a few frags and have moved some over from my 5G nano.

My friend who had my vacumn finally returned it as well, so I was able to clean my entire room and have set up a fragging station against a wall complete with it's own mini fridge, frag racks, testing equipment and additives, and hooks for tools.

I did finally get the pump in and it is so much quieter. I can finally sleep at night again now, it's great.

Still waiting on two shipments from BRS to arrive. They're taking quite a while.

I have lots to do still though. Need to find a way to get an RODI unit in here so I can stop buying water. I also want to get my refugium and skimmer going, because currently the tank is running without filtration and is going through a fairly significant diatom outbreak because of it.

Nice setup. How are the colors on the acans that you bought this week?
Forgot to mention that.. they're nice but nowhere even remotely close to the pictures. I went to pick them up in person and couldn't identify which ones were even mine.

Some uodates-

I've slowly been building up a nice stock of frags. I did sell that large Clam that I had to make space for other things. I've also relocated the sump and built an elevated remote refugium to hopefully take care of a nutrient issue that ice been battling. I also fragged up the red Monti mostly and have been slowly selling pieces of it off. I've still got ~100 more frags of it though lol.

Also pictured is a 10g that I set up to breed cherry shrimp in. Just waiting on it to cycle and the plants to to grow in currently.

System looks great! I find it really hard to get pics that accurately reproduce what I see with my eyes. I’ve found that using an orange gel filter helps to offset the blues. I also use an iOS app called aquarium cam. It allows you to adjust the colors live and try to get an accurate pic. It’s not perfect but I can usually get close.

You can also use it to take complete BS pics. Don’t do that. ;)

But... But...

If everyone else is doing it, I can too, right?

Seriously though, the camera on my phone (pixel3) is actually incredibly good at taking accurate photos, and whatever needs tweaking I can take care of in Photoshop because it shoots RAW.

damn your dormroom is big, mine in college were crap small, didnt even have a sink
They're really not very big. I'd say probably 15'X20' or so with a shared bathroom between two rooms. I did luck out and have no roommate, so I folded up the second bed and moved all the second set of furniture to a nearby friend's apartment to make room for tanks and such.

I like the pvc clam stand. Did the clam attach to it? I’m quite interested in adding a clam soon.
It did actually attach! I didn't expect it to, though. I just cut a PVC pipe in half lengthwise, drilled holes in it, and zip tied the halves together. If I were to make another, I'd try and somehow glue or epoxy the halves together (in addition to the zip ties) to stop the halves from moving too much.

My Clam is for sale by the way (wink wink) pm me if you're interested. Good prices for NJRC members :)
