External pump question

I'm plumbing my tank and would like to know if it matters how far away my pump is from the stock tank. Here's the thing I would like to put my stock tank along the wall in my basement but that puts my return pump at is max head pressure so can I move the pump away say maybe 10ft from the stock tank. I know I will have to make sure the tank stays above the pump but is there any problem with doing this

Reeflo hammerhead gold my max head pressure is at 24ft I am just about there from pump to returns in tank is about 24ft so I would like to move just the return pump closer to the DT but that would mean moving it further away from the stock tank

So don't move the pump leave it at 24ft?
Does that put anymore stress on the pump?

Horizontal distance is not so bad as every 10 feet of horizontal is 1 foot of head....every 90 is 1 foot and every vertical is 1 for 1. You should be more than fine as long as your not going 24 feet vertical.
