Well the LFS I bought it from told me it was a montipora sp. That may make it more acceptable for your tank.

The Blue Ridge Coral I have is definitely a Softie?  . I HAVE TO FRAG IT as it's really starting to spread. I'll have some with me at the meeting if anyone wants some.

From LiveAquaria ;D http://www.liveaquaria.com/product/prod_Display.cfm?pCatId=2505

The Blue Ridge Coral, sometimes referred to as the Blue Coral, is often mistaken for a small polyp stony (SPS) coral because it has a hard blue exoskeleton with long, thin polyps. It really is an octocoral (soft coral) and its growth forms are branching, plate-like, columnar, or encrusting. Its body is composed of calcium carbonate and iron salts, which lend its distinctive blue color. However, the polyps are either brown or light blue. They are an interesting and peacefull coral that will add diversity to your reef aquarium.

Yup, it is the only softie I know of with a hard skeleton.

Francis, let me see if I can get another frag or so off of mine. I just cut one the other day so I want it to heal up before I cut it again. Unless of course Rich definitely has the same one and wants to frag a piece from his.

Son of a beach......Who'd a thunk a hard coral with small polyps is a softie.
I'll have some at the meeting for you Francis. I'll have some for you too muscle man if you want some.

Thanks Rich. I've only had mine for a month or so and it's just starting to show some good growth. I don't really want to cut too much off just yet.

OK Gabe......
The polyps aren't out right now but this is what I'll be trying to get under control.

yep, as long as you keep it warm and above 75 you should be OK. I'll bring extra bags in case you want to add more air in the bag (or sneak in Oxygen into a new bag from a patient's room, LOL) put them in a cooler if you can with hand warmers, if I remember, I will bring some too.

Tell the surgeon's they're not donor organs though. That would be weird having a humilis as a forefinger

I gotta wake up, no coffee yet LOL
