Feeding question

So i usually feed frozen mysis/brine, now i like to feed at least twice a day, but going through 2-4 cubes a day is starting to add up. If i were to do a feeding how long could i let the remainder of the defrosted cubes sit in a cup of tank water? Obviously not trying to go more than a couple hours with it but just curious how long before it would go "bad".

If you put it in the refrigerator it should last a pretty good amount of time.

i usually thaw out a cube in the morning and feed with it throughout the day. sometimes ill feed it the next day if i forget. recently switched to mostly pellets though and its a lot less of a mess.

Im going to probably cut them in half. But im still curious how long they can be out before they go bad. Ive feed food that i left out for several hours and noticed that my fish had little interest in it. Just curious.

I will usually let excess food sit a day or so in the fridge. If you want to really do something cool, defrost the cubes and toss what the "correct" amount of a feeding is into an ice tray with some RODI water and freeze that. Then you have your own feeding portions ready to go.

That's not a bad idea, might give it a try since i can also just mix the foods then re freeze. Need to figure out how much i tend to feed at once to determine how much to put in each cube.
