Filter cup media opinion

I was just using the floss. I found the top to clog quickly and I had to remove the surface of floss every couple of days or cups overflow. (I run 450gph thru them) I tried carbon in a bag sandwiched between the floss but the lower floss would clog the bottom holes/ slots in cups from the weight of the bag.
I had carbon pad I was cutting into discs, it was messy, and not much surface area. If you leave on end the surface area is still the cup diameter and clogs.

They are considered media cups and I was hopeful they would be a bit easier than socks and save the room the reactors take up. But in the end I went back to reactors and mesh socks.
When my system is running well I don't change the socks for a week or 2 before clogging.
Maybe you will have more luck than I did or with lower flow they will last longer. Assume you have 4 inch cups? 7 inch would probably be better.
