Filter media cup overflowing.

I have the 7" cup and have a bag for carbon and purigen in it. I add floss on top. Overflows when they get dirty. Try switching out more often.
I replaced it Sunday and it was overflowing last night.. I need to get more out of them... (This was prior to me adding my chemi pure) hence why either one bigger 7" would be better or two 4" and since I have a 4" already I am going to try to just add another.

Gotcha, the 4" does look small IMO. My sump was 7" and was going to get a the smaller plate to fit the 4" but cost was not productive so picked up 7" cup.

I drop my media bag in the sump itself.
If you put it in the cup its going to restrict flow.
Keep floss only in the cup, change it every 3 days or so and you'll be golden.

Edit: Do you have a sponge at the bottom of it as well? THat, combined with a media bag will kill any flow.

I replace it once a week however Its overflowing quicker. The chemi pure is supposed to be in high flow areas no.?

Media should be in high flow area but doesn't have to be in the highest flow area.
Anywhere in the sump should be fine.
Your cups should only have floss in them.
I run a 110 and have 3 cups filled with floss.
I change the floss every 3 days or so, if I do a lot of scraping or rock blowing, I may change it even sooner.
You don't need much in there, maybe baseball size. Change out when it gets icky.
Too much floss or too long between changes and it becomes a nutrient factory as Wilson said.
Another option is, if you have multiple cups, and you really want the media in a cup, just put it in one with nothing else, use the filter floss only in the other cup(s).

I'll move the bagged media to middle chamber
