First nano tank

Found this tank in an apartment I was cleaning out today.

set it up pretty much immediately. Started thinking how the hell im gonna maintain this stupid thing. Had some plumbing and bulkheads hanging around and came up with this

im thinking I can stop doing big water changes at home if I do one gallon a day there and one gallon a day here

Thanks. Hideous execution, but it's a shop tank. Gotta get my par meter back from a friend and see what I'm working with as far as the light goes

I have my little thing of all-for-reef dosing to my 1 gallon! I do a 400ml water change a weekish. Keeping it cool when it gets warmer is definitely the harder part, and an ATO is almost non-negotiable.

Light upgrade came today 150ish par everywhere.

also here's some baseboard I painted

Nano update. About a month. Still fishless. 50% water change once a week or so. Corals happy, except for the chalice.

What is the total volume? Looks like you have a little side sump?
Total volume is a a gallon and a half.
It's not a sump. I drilled it for an overflow so I wouldn't have to measure our water for water changes. Every couple days I take a gallon airizona ice tea container, dip it in my home tank, pour half a cup of salt down the overflow and fix my ATO as it doesn't like this.

then I take the gallon of water to work and pour it in that tank. It then overflows into that bucket. I remove the bucket and dump it down the sink

Functions more like an exchange I guess. But how is the tank doing?
