So I've successfully kept all LPS and an anemone so far and want to try my hand at an SPS to try to fill the top of my tank.
What would be a relatively easy to keep nice SPS that won't hurt my pockets in case it doesn't work out?

I was researching this last week as well. I came up with birds nest, although I defer to those more experienced.

Birds nest, stylo, digi, and montipora are hardy SPS. They are considered “easier” than acropora.
“Easier” acropora are green slimmer, Ora green planet, Ora trio color valadia, and other acros which have been in captivity for a very long time.
What are your water parameters?
