First tank 29gal

Alright... I think im feeling enough effort to finally post it so heres my belated 29gal adventure :p. I have a seaclone 100 skimmer which besides the occasional bubbles does its job for the price, an aquaclear 70 hob and 4 powerheads. Lights are JBJ 130w power compacts.

Been up for a few months and just picked up some corals with namshow today( blastos and what i think is candycane are his) because his tank isnt ready yet :p

And a FTS just for the heck of it.

Thanks for looking!

trying moving the blastos down...they look like blastos but they look stressed? see if that makes a difference...hth...

Wow... Time. who knew i had any of that?

thought i might update the post... My corals die. nothing else to say but that. my gsp id flaking off the rock, the toadstool melted, and my hammers still havent come out yet.
All tests that i have (all but mag) were fine...
Sal-1.025
ph-8.2
amm-0
ite-0
ate-5
dkh-12
copper-0
calc-430ppm

any idea how this could be happening? Would love to get corals but i cant keep throwing moeny away and dont wanna kill anything else :(

Are you having any problems with your other inverts?

Salinity being off would be my first guess. How are you measuring your salinity? Is it a swing arm or a refractometer?

Possibly run some carbon for a couple weeks in the hob, just in case there are toxins in the water.

i have one of the floating tube hydrometers not the swing arm. its between 1.025 and .026 so unless thats wrong the salinity is good. i recently was told to run carbon in a hob occasionally, in a patter (say run it for 5 days and then 2 weeks without it and then 5 days, switching it out each time so im trying that now)
Running hydrocarbon 2 now so hopefully everything will fix itself :p

Well its been about a month and i can happily say i see a lot of improvement in the health of the corals. Hammer is finally coming out, GSP is budding up and flowing around lively, and the shrooms are finally done splitting and are fanning out and going back to green.
Yaay

sorry to bother again.... but how are the balsto's under the 130 pc's?? I have the same amount of light and because i can't afford to upgrade lighting i stuck to softies.

Well the blastos werent mine, they were a friend who is bad with his impulse buying and stuck em in my tank for a week while his was finishing getting ready. They did well from what i saw, a lot more open and colorful then they were at the store. i dont know how they are now in his tank but i know they did fine in mine.

Well i picked up some yuma's today from Nano10. They seem to have opened very nicely and have a ton of color. very pleased with this pick up.
Whats this guy on the side? i have a bunch of them around my tank.(ignore the black mark. covers nothing)

Looks like a harmless feather duster/worm. Pops out of the LR right? Same Spot? If it moves around - it's something else....but hard to tell from the pics.
