First tank 29gal

feather worm. depending on where your LR came from - could be a species from the pacific or atlantic. Keep in mind if you like it and want to keep it - it is a filter feeder - doesn't matter what kind of light you give it - it wants phyto.

per wet web media:
Daily to a few times weekly offering of live (brine shrimp nauplii, rotifers...) or prepared foods (store bought or home-made) is recommended. Clam "juice", other "meaty" foods frappe'ed in a blender or smooshed with spoons or other tools applied in the general area (with a syringe, turkey baster device...) with most all particulate filtration switched off for the duration (@ an hour?). Other times and places I've plugged appropriate set-ups for intended such systems, including the use of timers or temporary switches to cut down on fouling from feeding...

good luck.

Alrighty... tanks looking a lot better largely by the new addition of a few frags from adesimone1 (thanks both of you)

heres some pics a hour or so into the tank

Welcome to the club! We've gotten your application and subscription. I'd imagine that you'll see the payment cleared quickly from Paypal. Sometimes the payments go out as e-checks and they can take 2-3 weeks that way. Your tank is very nice! Good luck with it.

And thank you both for the comments. Maybe after work ill take some new pics since they are now loving my tank. New eagle eyes and palys already :D

One question. Seeing as im going to be adding a sump/fuge soon and taking the equip off the back of my tank, i need to rearrange my rocks. some are resting on the skimmer pump and nothing is glued/secured so i need to make it more structurally sound.

How should i go about doing this without harming any fish/corals? Should i take out all the corals and place them into a bucket or something of the sort then take out rocks and try to catch the fish(2 clowns and a yellow watchman) so i dont crush any of them while re-arranging the rocks?

Off to work! Thanks in advance

Hate to say this - but to the right of the zoa - that looks like an anemone...and not the kind you want to have in the tank. Is there a stalk? Is that stalk soft? hard? If it's hard - it could be a cup coral. if it's soft - I think you may need something to remove it.

The frogspawn looks great - two heads is it?

Agreed, Phil. That looks rather like an aptasia, which you could easily gouge/scrape off of the rock.

Yeah i was thinking that. I guess that will be done when the tank overhaul is done... in addition to about 2-3 of those guys there were some rather small starfish in the rocks... red/white and black/white striped legs on em... Very very tiny, cant get a pic... and a few worms that are red bodied w/ fuzzy white legs i guess they are. Good/Bad/Switzerland?

LOL on Switzerland! The star fish are most likely micro brittle stars which are good for your system. The aptaisia, not so much!

Thanks for joining the club, BTW. We appreciate the support.

I was thinking more "neutral zone".

;)

unfortunately I could not locate the "original" ST pics of the bird of prey...btw if the stars look like an "asterina" (google it) then some say good - and some say bad - hence the neutral zone! ;)

Well few things updated now.
First i finally had the time and finished the sump and got it all set up (yaay) Tank looks a lot cleaner and less cluttered.
Second i bought a new light from nano10 (thanks again) its a coralife 2x65w pc, 150w MH pendant. Gonna get the wire tomorrow to hang it all up.

After the addition of the sump/fuge all of the corals seem verrry pissed off and are not opening much at all. i guess it just takes a bit of time for them to get used to the new, much higher water movement... oh well, only time can tell :p

Hola peoples... Picked up a new zoa rock at the store today because im too impatient to wait for my Mr. Coral order to ship. Looked like a pretty nice rock for 25$, anyone have an idea as to what type they are?

Pic is under 14k Phoenix bulb with 2 old arse pc actinic bulbs. ( also if you know what type the ones on the right are that would be nice to know :p )

Alrighty... been a bit of a while. Busy starting college and working. Oh, and starting a tank for my lil brother :)

Set up a 15gal tank with 4x24w T5's. Current stock list is a clownfish, a Yasha Hase Goby and a Pistol shrimp, as well as our un-identified starfish from my tank. Almost done the diatom bloom and will be putting corals in shortly :p.

In other news, the SeaClown Protein skimmer is garbage. (like anyone here but me didnt know that lol) I want to upgrade my skimmer and would like input on some of the top skimmers for a 29gal tank w/ 20 gal sump/fuge. Any and all feedback is appreciated!

Thanks for checking in
