Fish jumps through screen top = death(picture)

Purchased a Yasha a few weeks ago. He paired with the pistol shrimp but they kinda did there own thing. The other fish didn't bother him or anything. Last 2 days he was out of his hole laying in the back corner of the tank. Still alert & feeding like normal. Well, I came home from work today & noticed this

It amazes me how he actually made it through the holes. Sadly, he couldn't figure out how to get back down the hole. I'm lucking out with gobies. My watchman died & now the Yasha. I wonder if it's the pistol that's stressing them. They always seem fine together.

I'm telling you, I'm still not convinced that the Pistol you got pairs with a Goby. If they do, they're inseperable. The shrimp never gets further away from it than an antenna length.

I tend to agree. He's an ***! I've grown attached to the ***. It's a dilemma!

Good luck getting him out too. Maybe when we move you we can scoop the litle bugger out and get you a proper Shrimp/Goby pair.

That stinks...You can only do so much to protect. I was over a fellow reefers house checking out his tank and netting one day and while he was talking about why he just pit the netting on that past weekend his goby jumped right through the hole in front of our eyes and landed in the overflow. That goby tried to jump 3 or 4 times while we watched. He was not so happy, but at least the fish landed in the overflow!

Ugh! Sorry Kevin. You need to find out what's scaring your fish enough to commit fishicide. :nervous

I have the exact same netting and lost a Wheeler's Goby the same way about a month ago. I swear his head was bigger than the hole in the netting.

For better or worse, i got another one a week later. Two shrimp gobies sharing a 100g tank is a riot to watch. Lots of territorial displaying and sneaking around each other. No shrimp for me yet, though.

I have a Yasha in a smaller tank at work. Great fish. Better luck next time.
