I got done with work early so I had some free time so I picked up some frags.

Everyone has their own system of how to dip and acclimate corals.

I had good luck with revive from two little fish so I use that.
I also dip in seachem reef dip it’s basically iodine.
I've always used revive. ol skool but it works.

My wife asked me how do you keep track of all your frags?
How do you know all the names.
I personally use this App

“Aquarimate” it allows you to add live stock fish and corals. It has a huge data base so you can also use it to look stuff up.

You can also log all your test results.

So I decided to run more of a full spectrum during the day for a few hours.
The tank is less blue but it gives me full use of my lights.
I never like running heavy blue lights on any of my tanks. That doesn’t look natural to me. Every reef that I have personally seen had full spectrum light. Any time I snorkeled I have never seen blue light.

That’s the reason why I like the kessil lights I am able to run my whites and blues high during the day. I also am able to add red and green and run everything for 11-4pm every day. At night I go back to blue lights only.
The way I see it if I am paying for these lights I will use every single one of the LEDs it makes no senses to run just 1/2 the lights and just run blues all the time.

So today I started cleaning out the garage and making room. I took this rubber maid stock tank out. I used it for my move. I put all my live stock in there while I tore down my old tank.

I am trying to figure out how to add it to my current system. It’s like a 100 gallons of water. So I am thinking of using it as one of the following :
1)holding vessel for a lot of my live rock.
2) I could also use it as a huge refugium.
3) I could even use it as a grow out tank for larger colonies.
4) use as a sump for a 2nd system.
5) sell it and clear up space lol

If I decide to add to the system I have to figure out what’s the best way to setup this beast.

So I was able to make two 50 gallon tubs of salt water. I took some rocks out of the system and sump and put it in this rubber maid tub. I also have two 5 gallon buckets of ocean rock.

I added 50 gallon of salt water to the rubber maid bin from the system.

I then had to replace the the 50 gallon of water with a new batch of water.
I also had to replace the rock volume I removed with freshly made salt water.

I mixed like 100 gallons of fresh salt water. I am lucky I got a good deal on salt.

I will build a stand around the bin and add it to the system.

I made a last minute fish run to Salgado on Tuesday night. They had a flash sale and I was able to pick up a few fish cheap.
Nothing special just some wrasses and tangs. If you haven’t had the chance to go and support this brother you should make the trip. It’s a small store but his stock and prices are amazing.
