Fish Suggestion

considering adding one last fish to my tank, looking for some suggestions. it is a 180g mixed reef.

current fish load- Purple Tang (L), Yellow Eye Kole Tang (M/L), Yellow Tang (M/L), Blue Throat Trigger (M/L), Purple Psuedo & 2 True Perc's

well for now i just added a blood/fire shrimp. might add a copperband butterfly, lamarcks angel (or other reef safe angel), or maybe a female blue throat trigger a little later on down the road

I'd stay away from the angels. I've had too many reef safe ones still pick at stuff over the years. Try a school 3-4 chromis or 2-3 fire fish. Maybe a hawk fish?

Only certain ones. Long nose are usually a good bet, plus they're good in a reef. Always add the shrimp first and the fish you think might eat it later. Just seem to have better luck this way. I think when fish see you dump in the shrimp it's kinda like feeding time

tied a firefish and a few anthias in the past, pyscho psuedo chases anything even close to its size. caused the firefish to jump, as well as a couple anthias. just had the others to scared to come out of the rocks that eventually starved. had that fish. worse fish i ever bought. so.... i think i am only going with decent sized fish at this point.

The lamaracks and bellus angel are of the swallow-tail group of angels that are the most reef safe. Most angels that people have trouble with are the dwarf species or the truly not reef safe larger angels. I think you will be ok with a lamarack (you could even get a pair). They will also probably hold their own against the purple pseudo.

The longnose hawk might be the most safe with shrimp, but trust me they will stalk them. Ours took a couple of shots at our cleaners but they were much bigger then him.
