Hey, I know he's a sponsor for the site. I was just wondering if anyone got Florida base rocks from the site. Does anyone know how porous or good this rock is?
I know that everyone who's ever gotten the rock from him has loved it. I've seen tanks with it and it is nice, porous rock.
I have also read that it might take you ages to get your rock.
If he isn't shipping any time soon, check bulkreefsupply.com and check out their Eco Rock. It's dried base rock as well and I think relatively the same product.
Yeah, I would def. check with Marco first as he's a sponsor and all. The BFS is nice stuff from what I hear. Would be nice to get them to sponsor the site maybe.
I don't care for the shape of florida rock. I ended up getting rid of all of that and replacing it with "Marco" rock when he was still getting it from Figi. Not sure I'd use Florida unless it looks more like the Marco we all know and love.
In response to your question I purchased some Florida rock from Marco and it's not nearly as porous as his other rock. The shapes aren't as bad but again nothing like his other rocks. If I had the chance to do it again I would spend a few dollars more and get the other rock. That said, if you still want to purchase it I have about 30lbs you can purchase.
I just looked at his Florida rock and it seems to be a bit shaplier than the Florida I had gotten (that all looked like baseballs/footballs/cantilopes). He does say it isn't as pourous.
He actually has a supply of Fiji right now (probably the last he'll have). He's changed his policy to only sell from stock.
i read through his reviews on the vendor forums. I didn't decide not to get it from him just found a better deal locally.
after multiple bad feedbacks in a short period of time with no explanation from the vendor. that's not good business ethics.
great rock with absolutely horrible customer service? loss of customers.
i've dealt with paying a mechanic, who was HIGHLY recommended for his abilities, who i paid up front and kept promising dates and after 3-4 months my car was still messed up with thousands of dollars spent to "fix" the problem. To say the least after word spread, he was out of business for his lack of ability to run the business properly.
not knocking marcorocks. i'm just saying if I was running a business customer service would be high up on my list.
