flow question

My feed pipe to my sump keeps "burping" i think air is getting caught up somewhere i have two 90 deg. fittings in the line and i think that is one of the causes. i am thinking of drilling a hole right before the elbows and sticking airline tubing in there to provide a place for the air to bleed. any thoughts anyone?

Where are the 90s at? I'd be afraid that hole would bleed water unless it was in a place where that wouldn't be a problem (overflow box, sump), I'd be hesitant.

Before you get the drill....try this:
Get some decent sized (1/4") rigid tubing, and stick it down the drain from your overflow. If you're clever, you can secure it with zip ties. In my experience, this allows the swallowed air to escape from the drain line and improves things considerably.
