Former NJRC Member, Now DVRC Officer - This Month's DVRC Meeting will be IN NJ!!!!

Hey guys!

Just wanted to introduce (re-introduce?) myself. I was never very active in the NJRC, but there were some issues happening during the time I joined. This would have been around 3 or 4 years ago. I'm not sure what was happening, but the site was down and there were no meetings or events after the initial meeting I attended. I do not recall the members name, but it was up in north Jersey. His house was an awesome log cabin tucked in the woods. The system was built in the wall, with a basement filtration room. He was testing an algae scrubber. Other than that, I do not remember much.

Anyway, I've moved to the Delaware Valley since then. I joined the DVRC, and eventually took a seat on the BOD.

One of our members is located in Ewing, NJ. We'll be holding a meeting there on the 18th of January. I wanted to take the time to see if any of you all were interested. We'd love to have you! LOL. As I mentioned, I attended 1 meeting. I was going to help the current BOD out with the website. Never heard from them again. Then the site was down for months. Eventually, I stopped checking it out. It would have been around 2010 / 2011 that this happened, if anyone remembers it.

The oldtimers here know it well.....June 2011. It's my understanding that the company hosting our site packed up and dissapeared overnight. No one to contact to retrieve all the forum information. I think it took about a month to find a new host and get the site back up and working from an old copy of the forum. About a year or so of forum info was lost.




And I'm pretty sure that meeting was at the Paintman's log cabin:

That sucks! That's why we do backups Of course, I found that the backups don't work unless they're saved locally, lol - someone was saving the DVRC backups on the host's FTP. :/

Yeah off site backups are a big plus
