I do not know if this is the right forum but here it is ..
I read on a few sites that marble acts as a great frag plug and frags seem to encrust it quicker than reg plugs. I bought a piece of marble tile for another reef project and could not find it unfinished . A vinegar/water bath removed all the polish and left it nice and porus . I left it in overnight and the solution was mostly water .
A cheap way to get frag plugs or possibly line the bottom of a tank . Cheap 12x12 marble cost only a few dollars and Im sure some tile stores would give or sell you damaged ones for close to nothing . There are also always scraps at lowes/HD by the tile saw, also nice thick saddle marble scraps . If you ask a manager they will usually let you have them ,they are only going to toss them out in the trash.
