I can’t stop looking at the clam. It looks like it’s gotta be 10lbs! How much do you think it weighs? How small was it when you got it? How fast did it grow? Does it need a ton of light, how about when it was small? The shrooms on the shell are pretty cool too.

I killed a clam that I got once, slowly. It was really lame. The tank was immature and it probably didn’t belong in there. With the rock work change I’m doing I will have a ton of more floor space. I may try again.

Is that one from the February meeting in the snow. He had a Clam Fest. Everyone got one that day. I felt left out and traded for one a couple days later it was basically dead when I got it. Not pearl white.

Well my advice has stayed the same. I got it at about 3 inches, I fed it phyto some. ESB makes a freeze dried one though I liked it better as a powder. It started under T5 until I went with LED. Derasa clams are the best for tanks IMHO. Maxima I had lasted about 8 years and then crapped out overnight...this one is is 12 years old. I run a pretty dirty tank so there is a lot for it to feed on. I would guess it is over 10 lb but rarely pick it up.
