frogspawn polyp ejection.

Hi all.

I've had my frogspawn eject polyps before. usually little bit at a time and they never survived. Just this week, it did a much larger polyp ejection and i jammed it between a couple of rubble rocks and it seems to be surviving. I think this one's going to grow out to be a head.

has anyone experienced this sort of propagation of euphyillia LPS species? seems rather unusual but what the heck it looks like it's going to live. it's almost like how mushrooms propagate by binary fission. i didn't think LPSs are known to propagate this way.... any thoughts?

Yeah, we have frogspawn popping up in a couple of spots around the tank. I assume its from the same thing. I've had to pull some of them out because they starting coming up right underneath some nice chalices and started to annoy them.

I think I have the same issue....I found one of these sticking out of the rock and had a hard time guessing what it was.

My wife said it looked like the hammer coral but I think its the frogspawn.

Its right in the middle of the images...hopefully everyone can find it.

So is it the hammer or the frogspawn and will it live and grow? It has been there for quite a while now.

But do they actually grow into full sized colonies or am I doomed to have a sprout forever?

Ours are growing but it's a pretty slow process. It seems like it's taking longer than it would for new heads to sprout on an established colony.
