Is anybody on here running a system without a Fuge /Algae Scrubber or carbon dosing?

a few months ago i was looking into doing a DIY drop algae scrubber, but after doing some research on mostly parts and other materials needed it kinda went over my $60 total budget.

currently i have been looking into getting one of these DROP.2 drop-in upflow algae scrubber with Green Grabber surfaces - 0.2 cubes feeding per day as this was the basis of my DIY experiment. I have done as much research as possible on this item and this particular unit will fit perfectly in the rear chamber of my AIO unit.

Before i do make the purchase, are there folks running systems without the items mentioned above? i would like to know what nutrient exporting methods you are using. currently i am using a skimmer, pond matrix, chemi-pure elite, purigen, rough and fine filter pads in my media basket.

i have been having a small issue with GHA that i can't seem to fully kick, i got it down but it hasn't gone away.

if not, i will purchase this item, and post up reporting on it.

Marcus are you dosing magnesium as that help with GHA. I run my skimmer more on the wet side and use Mag and that's it.
I just drop the little GFO bag in the open section of skimmer. Not the best method so looking to make a change there.

I vodka dose & finally im starting to see it working. I have a small HOB Fuge that I made out of the lid of a plastic container I got from target & a magnetic LED light I had laying around. total cost including the LED was probably ~$50 and does way more than that 0.2 drop in.
