Fusteration..!

So I feel my tank is finally at a point where its very stable the chemistry is spot on and doesnt fluctuate much the equipment is functioning properly and over all life seems to be flourishing with that said I have real bad luck with fish that I can't figure out. I recently added a corbis wrasse, a very healthy looking specime, drip acclimated floated and properly acclimated but with in 24 hours it vanished. I removed the predators from, the tank weeks prior so it didnt get eaten .. The water chemistry is perfect and the other fish are fine. I know wrasses burry them selves in,the sand bed and the prior evening I watched this one do it but the following day while I was at work the wife told me she had not seen it all day. Today while I was home I searched the tank the best I could with out tareing apart the rock work and didn't see any signs of it at all. I honestly can't figure why it's gone if its dead or if its just hideing or maybe its still in the sand. I've been taking a lot of precautions when adding any new fish but the last few have all seemingly vanished.
On,a second unrelated frustration my tank seems to be evaporating water faster then I can add it I've checked for leaks and occasionally find some moisture in,the area understand around, the sump but not enough to explain the drop in water level I don't have a ATO yet but I am surprised with the amount,of water I have to add regularly I don't believe its a leak because the salinity stays the same after the addition of water.

Ugh any ideas

Wrasses can hide for weeks, just let it be for a while. I got a yellow coris a few months ago and didn’t see it for 3 days. Same with my diamond goby that I recently added. Went missing for 2 days.

If you have had a lot of fish just vanish you might have a bad hitchhiker. Did you start with live or dead rock?

Wrasses and especially coris can disappear for a while, let them be and don't disturb them which could stress them further. Also make sure you have a tight lid, as they can jump. Evap can change seasonally as supra said, check your refract if you are getting the same readings all the time.

As other said give your fish some time. I had fish hide on my for 3+ days even after being in the tank awhile and eating and then one day it goes in hiding.

I noticed my tank always need more water in the winter than the summer. Like said before that normal
