GFO Reactor or Skimmer?

I have the Innovative Marine Nuvo Fusion 10. I am having issues with algae on my rock work and red slime. I treat every two months with red slime remover and that takes care of it for the two months, but it always comes back.

I'm trying to decided whether to run the Innovative Marine MiniMax Reactor or the Innovative Maine Ghost Skimmer. I only have the ability to do one of them since I want to keep everything in the rear chamber and I have the filter sock in the first chamber.

What is everyone's opinion on which piece of equipment I should be running?

Thanks!

I'd go with the skimmer. Even though it's not the best way to run GFO, you could always throw it in a media bag and dump it somewhere.

I had a biocube skimmer in my IM25.
It worked OK, just not enough for my bio-load (4 fish, heavy SPS and softies), and I had a severe algae outbreak.
I picked up a used ghost on ebay for $90 and between the skimmer and weekly 5-10g changes, all coming under control.
The ghost skimmer is a beast of a workhorse for its size, I imagine in a 10g it'll work wonders.

Might be setting up my IM10 again, picked up a new Biocube skimmer for it which I think will work quite well, but if you have the ability, I would definitely go ghost (I'd also keep an eye on ebay, 150 is a steep tag for a skimmer for a 10g).

Skimmer, I have the same tank but shut it down a while back. The reviews ive seen on the ghost skimmer are poor so I personally wouldn't go with that model (but that's me). The tunze 9001 on the other hand works well for me on my current system and should fit in that rear chamber

Actually (now that i think about it) the tunze may not mount properly so....I'd go w the ghost or something similar.

I had the same exact problem with my innovative marine nuvo 20 .what i did was dose the tank with special blend (bacteria)covered the sides with cardboard, turn off the lights for 3 days and no more algae!and its been that way since
