GFO usage

I use to have a sump and reactor for GFO. Now my tank is much smaller and all I have is a skimmer and HOB with a phosphate sponge in nylon bag. My question is since I have left over GFO can I use it in a nylon bag inside the HOB filter?

That will work fine, I typically run chemi-pure blue, purigen, and phosguard in my nano.
