Glass Cages

In 6 months you will be wishing your tank was glass. 8 months if your going BB
i agree.
especially at that size. i think the main reason people go acrylic is because of the weight.

i figured that but I am going BB and hopefully no scratches. let's not jinx myself before i get the actual tank ;D

I had 2 acrylic tanks and never really a prob with scratches. But it took 10 times longer to clean the acrylic. Never used a magnet always stuck my hand in and wiped it with a washcloth. 99% of peoples scratches are from sand between the magnets

Have you looked into AGE? They make a glass tank with an acqrlyic bottom. I hear its kind of pricey but hey I got quoted a price of over $4500 for a glass 96x20x20tall, and thats with me going to get the tank  I won't tell you what company that absurd quote was from for fear of being put in the penalty box by the site admin.

paintman, i have contacted a few other places but the price range of my new setup is within ~1000 for lights tank and stand.

stand was 160shipped
lights looking at ~700 shipped
and i'm willing to go over 1000 but not ABSURDLY over that amount.

i know life is all about "you get what you pay for" but there's other sayings mainly "trying to live within your means".

1k may not seem a lot for most but that's just 3 pieces of equipment. which doesn't include all the gadgets i've already bought from my previous builds.
