Gluing pvc

IMG_2795.JPG So here is the dumb question of the day!:oo:

Since I had to disassemble my tank because the room is going to be painted, I decided to thoroughly clean all my equipment. While cleaning the Reef Octopus HOB skimmer, the pvc connection to pump came apart. I am assuming I can use pvc primer and pvc cement to seal this up again? If yes, how long after I use the product can the skimmer be place back online? Do I need to rinse it after it has cured? I am going to lowes after school pickup

If you're talking about that piece on the right, that's a pressure fitting and should just push right in. You can always tell a pressure fitting by the ring right before the elbow turns.

Yes it does push in and is snug fitting. Okay So no pvc cement is needed. It had a small bit of glue on it when it came off.

Thank you!

That white piece is also probably nylon and even if you wanted to glue it. PVC solvent would not work.

There was some type of glue used because I had to scrape it off. No idea what they used
