Groundhog

Ok I was looking out my window in the kitchen. I see a groundhog at the edge of my yard by my grill snacking away. I call out the window he looks up and walks over to a small bush we have planted by the patio and decides he is going to go to his new home. Right by my patio. Ok how many of you big bad reefers are good at catching groundhogs? This may be an
issue in May when we have our meeting.

My yard had a family of groundhogs. Got some traps. I think I got them from lowes. A little peanut butter, no more groundhogs. Just brought them A few miles away and let them go. If you live near the woods though you might catch a skunk or raccoon. If that happens just call the local animal control. They will take it.

I'm not great at trapping them but if you want a more permanent means of disposal I've done that more than a few times.

So you’re the guy driving into the wooded area behind my house and dumping groundhogs. We have a terrible problem with them. So bad last year that I had to plant my garden twice….and then gave up. We will not have a garden this year. I tried a bunch of things….that didn’t work. I also have a big trap, and they got wise to that. Tried a whole Sam’s club bottle of hot peppers….no good! Tried bombing there holes with the special bombs that they sell…. I finally surrendered!

Matt, don’t say this publicly. A lot of towns have animal gestapo officers….I’m sure you heard of the stories of people killing a rat and ending up in jail.

Yes I have, but there is a legal hunting season for groundhogs, not the case for rats.
