Not sure how many of you use the hanna alk checkers. This is from a discussion on another site. Some Batches of reagent are bad and giving false readings. I checked both of my bottles that I got a few days ago and both are bad. Thinking this is the reason for my recent chemistry problems. I thought it was the new dosing pumps but apparently I was wrong. Here's a link to check your reagents.

I have an older red sea test kit i found that shows it hasn't expired yet, puts my alk about 1dkh lower than hanna.

well, to add to the fun, i got a salifert kit, it agrees with my hanna, dkh is 8.5, and the red sea is reading low at 7.5

Guess its time to break out the API. I absolutely refuse to use the Red Sea. IMO its the worst ALK kit out there

Yes the pro kit.

I could never tell where the proper color change is with it. I know it's one of the more popular but for me I just can't see the change.

I like the salifert kit. I recently got a used hanna checker from radiata and new reagent. It's reading 7.6. The salifert is measuring the same.

Timing is everything.
I was just about to release details of my Alk checker.

Operation is simple:
Dip Quadra-Alk (pat pending) Sensor into water.
Manually kinetically charge the Alkalinity Indicator.
Note reading.
Dose accordingly.

I was planning to market these at $329.95 but as some of you seem to be having some recent concerns I'm willing to part with the initial builds, to NJ Reefers only, at $299.

Just curious, how many people here that put in a ticket received their new reagents?
