Happy Father's Day

Happy Father’s Day everyone!

As I finish up making my own breakfast, the comparison I heard of Mother’s Day to Father’s Day begins to sink in. On Mother’s Day, we get up and fix her breakfast, wait on her all day while she sits on her thrown, and finish up the day taking her out to dinner. On the other hand, Father’s Day lasts as long as it takes to open the cards, and then it’s back to mowing the lawn and fixing something, or in my case, cleaning the breakfast dishes.

Have a good one guys…try to stretch the card opening to half an hour. :)

Isn't that the truth! Happy Fathers day. Take what you can get Dads!

My card opening only lasted 5 min before my wife had to leave for work. I'll be making my own dinner tonight. At least I get to spend the day working on my aquarium stand with my son.

You poor guys...I woke up to the smell of frying bacon and brewing coffee, was showered with cards and gifts, and forbidden to lift a finger the whole day. I guess that tantrum I threw last year really paid off! Either that or the expensive gifts and car repairs I paid for last week...
Sadly I am on call for The Bank today, so I have to field any problems that come my way.
But OTHER THAN THAT....:)

Could be worse you could in the hospital with a sick kid like me. Thank God he is getting better and hopefully we can get out of here soon. Crazy how a cold can land him in the hospital for five days.

Sorry about this Ed. I am not a religious person but I am thinking about Josh and my fingers and toes are crossed every time I hear about one of these (hopefully minor) setbacks.

Hope so Ed! Wishing you and your family all the best.

As to Father's Day, mine turned out pretty good. I didn't get breakfast in bed or anything, but I got a nice little package of goodie snacks (peppridge farms cookies, bananas foster pudding, raisinettes, and a few other chocolate-related stuff). I also got a new 7mil wet-suit recently which was part B-day present and part Father's Day present. Then, we went to my parent's for a BBQ in the afternoon. All in all a prett good day of family enjoyment.

Then, to top it all off, this morning my boss hands me two tickets and a VIP parking pass for the Phillies game on Wed. night! I know they're not playing so hot right now, but it's always a good time down at CBP.

Hope you all had a great one too.

So true about Father's day. At least I did get coffee and some box muffins for breakfast, the cards were nice and the kids were civil and played together in honor of the day. It was all over before 9AM and not only did I get to make lunch and dinner I got to do the dishes too!

I'm glad your son is doing better Ed. I hope you don't mind the personal address and note since we're not familiar but I am legitimately happy for you. My son has juvenile diabetes, I have no idea what chronic condition you're dealing with but I can certainly empathize. In a weird way I appreciated the moment of having to care for him at 4AM last night; first because kids always look so beautiful while sleeping but also because I felt proud of myself for all the efforts we dads, all of us, but especially those of kids with chronic illness, put forth.

PS I just noticed your signature; indeed, that's exactly what I was talking about. It's the rough seas that let you know what kind of sailor you are.
