Harlequin shrimp compatibility

Looking to buy a harlequin shrimp , currently I have a peppermint and a skunk cleaner shrimp in a 90 gallon will they be ok together ?

They should be fine.
Harlequins result in high pollution, so do keep that in mind.
They will need to be fed live starfish, which may draw competition for the dying stars from the other shrimp.

I only have a few starfish in the tank now. I've kept harlequins in the past and like them so figure ill give a try with keeping a chocolate chip starfish in the sump and just cut off a piece for home every once in a while

One or two legs a month is what I did and it was fine. Buy 3 or 4 stars and alternate between them. By the time you reach the first one again, it should be healed. Id recommend getting a pair also if possible

I didn't have that kind of luck. We had a large hawaiian harley for a long time, and he ate 2-3 chocolate chip stars a month at adult size of about 2".

I've had them in petco so they shouldn't be too hard to find. Aquarium center in blackwood had some last week, might still

How long do you leave the arm of the starfish in the tank befor removing the remains of it if any

They only eat the tube feet so there will be lots of "remains". Just watch them once they eat all the tubes they will drop it. If you do a whole starfish, I have heard they will eat some of it over a few days so it stays alive and fresh.

I can't believe you have them in your petco , I had to search pretty hard to find someone to order one in for me unfortunelty I lost it in the temp tank I had while moving into a new house. I think I'm going to go the route of 2 or so chocolate chip stars and alternate feeding

Yeah I did alot with that place when I was working there. That sounds like a good plan.

Just getting the shrimp acclimated come to find out one has eggs under its tail. Anyone know the likelihood of them hatching?

That's really cool. I'm not too sure of the likelihood of them hatching, but the article I linked had a good amount of info on breeding them.

I'm sure they could hatch not much to be expected after that it seems. Looks like I have two males and a female as two of them have been going at it for a while now. I've currently got them in a chamber of my sump about 15 gallons of the 40 gallon breeder, waiting to put them in the dt 90 gallon
