Help advice needed

Anyone in the Brick area possibly have time to come and take a look at my tank? I cannot figure out why some corals do great while others do not. Any help would be great to try to get to the bottom of this.

Paul,
what is your water parameters (as of right now)? Calcium, Alkilinity, Magnesium, phosphate,Nitrite, pH, salinity, water temperature high peak and low peak
how often do you do water change?
how many percent in respect to total system volume?
what salt are you using?
what light are you using?
how many hour of light on?
what is water circulation do you use? (internal pump like vortech or tunze or external close loop)
what skimmer do you use and how is it perform?
list of bio form in your tank such as fishes and coral.
any dosage? such as brightwell or zeovit or vodka dosing?

the more info the better for us to help you.

base on my experience, when my tank has problem such as algae and color lost in coral? I either has nitrite or phosphate spike. taht is with my tank. other might have bugs that eat your coral, not enough light, water parameter all out of wack.
if the tank is taht bad, do a large water change and continue weekly water change with correction of water parameters to its optimum level and the problem will be gone by itself

Paul, I’ve got it figured out….it’s those crappy Chinese LEDs you have.

But here’s what I’m willing to do. I’ll give you my IceCap system for your crappy LEDs. I’m talking a 660 and 430 ballast with six 4 foot T5bulbs with endcaps and reflectors. Now that’s a great deal. I hear IceCap is an UP-AND-COMING business! ::) I know, I’m just a nice guy. ;D

In all seriousness, could it be your switching out your lighting for the new fixtures? ….An acclimation to the new lights??

Paul, I could stop by after work.. you are only 10 mins away from me... You have my number give me a call tomorrow.. BTW.. Did the diatoms clear up?

Thanks everyone. I spoke Dnov99 last night and he think it may be due to my inconsistent dosing. Bax is stoping by tomorrow to pick up a light so he can give some more input as well. I am bringing a water sample to the meeting Dnov99 is going to test it to see if my test kits are incorrect.

Sid, still haven't hooked up the new RO/DI. I didn't realize it did not come with a auto shut off valve so I still have diatoms on the sand.

Great. What do you think the best thing would be to bring water in without messing any tests up? Fish bag?

Do you have unused ziplock bags?? Double up a quart sized one.
